Really, will the Christian God ever bless a country that passes judgment and kills

people even when there is more than a reasonable doubt that the person is innocent?

But what is even more disturbing to me is that those who cry from the highest political places in this country about God, and Jesus spend much more time in the retribution of Old Testament and ignore the salvation of the New Testament.

Every time these charlatans invoke the name of Jesus I hearken back to the day when Jesus gave his sermon from the mount.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+5-7&version=NIV

He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Eye for Eye
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

On edit I want to again stress that I am not pushing or promoting Christianity in any shape or form, I am meerly using their words to call out the hypocrisy of those who proclaim the loudest...

Just posted this as a reminder...

2. The bible is a giant Rorschach test.
Show it to people, and they'll focus on what interests them. They'll see what they want to see.

And in so doing, they'll reveal who they are.

Apart from that, I don't think it has any value.

3. Be that as it may, to use their own words against them is perhaps
the most effective weapon.

Please don't hate the words because others pervert the message.

5. If it's an effective weapon, I'm all for it.

The sad true is that mean, greedy and cruel people can do very well for themselves.

6. They are hypocrites, even though they would deny that...
I wish someone would confront them on this. I'd like to see them wiggle away from the accusation.

Recommended.
