MADISON-Wisconsin Democrats on Wednesday submitted Open Records requests to Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen's office, following news reports that Van Hollen had refused help to a growing corruption probe of Walker.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that, while Van Hollen had offered resources in the prosecution of Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee, it declined to help the "John Doe" investigation of Scott Walker, which resulted in the FBI raid last week of a top Walker aide.
"J.B. Van Hollen has been close to Scott Walker and committed to operating the Department of Justice as an adjunct to Walker's radical Tea Party agenda," Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday. "That Wisconsin's Tea Party top cop refused help to prosecutors in a corruption probe of Wisconsin's Tea Party government should concern every citizen, regardless of party. Justice should be blind, regardless of whether one is a cheerleader for the Koch Brothers agenda or not."
