China hits out at US deal on Taiwan F-16 fighters

China has reacted angrily to a US deal to upgrade Taiwan's ageing fleet of US-built F-16 fighter planes.

Vice-Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun said the $5.85bn (£3.77bn) deal would "inevitably undermine bilateral relations", including military and security co-operation.

He also summoned US Ambassador Gary Locke to protest against the deal.

China traditionally reacts strongly to US military co-operation with Taiwan, which it considers its territory.

2. You win 1,000,000 interwebz! Fuck their corrupt, totalitarian, thieving government and its wishes.

They could tremendously raise the standard and quality of living for their citizens and even the citizens of the world if they'd only be willing to cooperate instead of spy, steal, and repress. Aside from the mental defects, they are about as bad as NK, and in some ways even worse.

Note that I specifically said their government, as I have nothing but good wishes for their citizenry.
