About Meg Whitman/HP - boycott from now on.
If I remember correctly, Meg is anti gay marriage and promised to uphold and expand prop 8 if she was elected gov of CA.

I can't believe the HP board appointed such a polarizing character.

1. I'm pissed
I just bought a new HP computer 3 days ago. If I had known about this I would have bought something else.

11. No
All my files have been transferred - took about 18 hours to do it. And it runs so much better than my old 'puter. It's fast and it has a graphics card that enables me to run 3D design programs.

Sorry. I am really happy.

I guess I'm just happy that I bought it before Nutmeg screwed it up.

5. Fortunately the fucking idiots are talking about spinning off
and eventually dropping the hardware division so they can concentrate on software. I hope it happens. I've favored their hardware for a very long time, it's simple and durable.

2. I'm running out of options here
Edited on Thu Sep-22-11 06:54 PM by ChandlerJr
Apple: Product of slave Chinese labor being driven to suicide.

Lenovo: Owned by the Chinese gvmt., who knows how they treat their slaves

Dell: Michael Dell contributed to George Bush

Who even knows about the rest of them, and now HP too?

I wonder if the old Commodore64 in the closet still works.

6. Rolling your own's still an option if you're going the desktop route...
I went component-by-component on my new one, spent a little less than I would have with a store-bought whole system, and am pretty happy with the result. (It's also a neat learning experience, provided you're into that sort of thing, which you might be if you've got a C64 in the house.)

7. Guess Carly Fiorini didn't fuck it up enough.
HP used to make quality products and was one of the best companies to work for.

10. I'm not a fan of HP products to begin with. Nor am I a fan of bigotted women of power.
Then again I'm not a fan of boycotts. They don't do didley squat nowadays.

If a company does the right thing, then billo the clown or someone like that will call for a boycott.
If a company does something we don't like then boycott boycott boycott.

Just about every large company has an entire board of bigoted rightwingers. You can't boycott them all.

It's just a waste of energy.

13. After Carly Fiorina
Meg looks like a genius. I've recommended against HP crap for years, it's all trash. Tomorrow, a co-worker is going to bring me his daughter's HP laptop to repair, it's only a year and a half old, already headed for the junk heap except for my interventions.
