Controlling all major elected offices in the state (along with having two republican senators) you'd think GA would be white-hot with all the jobs created from its leadership team - they are the self-professed experts after all.
Anyhow, facts once again tell a different story. This time, the most recent figures for August indicate our state's unemployment continues to creap upwards, now officiall to 10.4%
From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
http://blogs.ajc.com/business-beat/2011/09/22/metro-atlantas-jobless-rate-rises-to-10-4-percent-in-august/?cxntfid=blogs_business_beatMetro Atlanta’s unemployment rate rose to 10.4 percent in August from 10.3 percent in July, the state labor department said Thursday.
There has been no improvement from a year ago when the local jobless rate was also 10.4 percent.
August marked the 49th consecutive month Georgia has exceeded the national unemployment rate, which is currently 9.1 percent.

At least our state is "tough on crime" as evidenced by the Troy Davis debacle.
It's not the best time to be a Georgian right now; but, as the saying goes, when it's darkest, that is when you can see the stars and find a light to guide you home.
