My father, sadly, is a rabid Limbaugh fan. His belief, and others that I have heard from, is that if a person is a (fill in your least favorite epithet) then that person should be called an (that same epithet) because that is what they are, and if you try to make "me be PC about it, that is an abridgment of my right to free speech." Circular, sure, and based on bigotry and bias in the first place, but this is how they think. If they believe it, its true, and if they say it, they have a right to say it regardless of how it makes others feel. Ironically my dad gets upset when other people hate him--I don't know why. "Civility" will quickly become appended to PC as a thing that they rail against because their beliefs are always correct and their thoughts have a "right" to be expressed.
