3. I don't know
I have several spam site/anti-virus/ad blocker programs that I use and I missed which one it was that blocked it. Coming back in, it is just a red X... Not sure what it did not like.

23. This has been happening to me for the last couple days here on certain images.
As in your case, I don't recall this happening on DU before.

Although the picture you referenced was not blocked, I had another image blocked on a post that I had clicked on just moments before. I turned the ad blocker off, clicked on another post, and then refreshed the page, and the image was no longer blocked, so I'm fairly sure that my ad blocker was the cause of the image being blocked.

12. According to the NYT, protesters have no idea
what they're protesting about. I think it is the Times which is clueless. This young man knows exactly what he is doing and why.

The privileged, and their mouthpieces, got no clue.

Fuckin' project much, guys?

19. the corporate media will do everything in it's power
to either suppress or dilute the movement. Of course, the protesters know what they are protesting, NYT just attempting to tell their readership that there is nothing to see. See, these protestors don't know what they're protesting but those teabaggers sure know what they're protesting. Damn it! They want their country back from that black man in the WH!!!! They want their corporate sponsors to have carte blanche treatment so we can look more like Nigeria or Somalia. See? Those teabaggers got a message, unlike, those protesters on wall street.

17. Can't see a bank in the picture
Pavement doesn't look like 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza? Was this in front of some random retail branch?

Chase moved most mortgage operations out of NYC years ago in order to find lower cost employees in other metro areas.

41. How did you get that out of that statement?
Since when does borrowing money imply the lack of repayment?

You keep trying to do what you do here, and keep failing at it.

44. Well borrowing only helps banks.
The only way they get hurt is if you don't pay.

Seems funny to protest Wall Street by borrowing and paying interest.

Can't find the photo but he was one of the first to be arrested yesterday.

When he was being taken away, he gave his name and said he was a law student.

Edited on Sun Sep-25-11 02:12 PM by sabrina 1
If so, no, it was done by the artist. I just copied and pasted the url. :-)

It was the poster they used for the first day of the occupation. They didn't know you cannot set up tents in the city at the time. The police have told them since then that tents are illegal as are tarps because they are a 'structure' and cannot be used. So, they used umbrellas to protect their media equipment and food etc. They are calling it the Umbrella Revolution for fun.

I think it's funny and sad that critics are asking for the one demand that will make everyone pack up and go home.

You can't negotiate with terrorists.

42. They should gather and publish stories like this
It is what Obama did when he was pushing HCR. Yes I know some think it wasn't good enough. But, the point is it got done and that was part of the process. These guys need to do something to get people to relate to them. If they had an organized structure with published materials, they would gain credibility.

The complaint was that Yahoo was not running this story--or leaving it off their news page. The story (about wall street protsters) is now on Yahoo News, but at the bottom of the news homepage.

Edited on Wed Sep-28-11 06:37 AM by laffibbl
Wow, has anyone checked his story? I heard that his parents
were called and they were not out of their house, as a matter
of fact the mother has a very high paying job and the house is
almost fully paid for. We need an investigative reporter the
check this out, not just go with the emotion of the thing.
