2. My thought exactly.
enough to make ya retch.

3. We've already had a good dose of stupid in the Bush years.
These people couldn't have a chance in hell of winning without the Bush years working hard to dumb the country down. Then there's Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly getting wealthy from working so hard to manipulate information. And we can't go without a mention of Murdock buying up all the media he can and the Koch brothers and the corporations paying for our politicians. And there's the Supreme Court too.

They've all been very successful. Our country now sees the people in that photograph as viable.

4. I finally understand now
why, when fascists take over a country, the first to be attacked/arrested/disappeared/killed
are the teachers and the educated.

6. The text is good but it's a bad idea to use that picture, implying that saying the pledge is stupid.
I'm always wary of memes that are vulnerable to misinterpretation and abuse by right-wingers.

8. That they are pledging "allegiance" really adds to the atrocity of their ideology.

And, remember, their first allegiance isn't to the betterment of the country; it's to Grover Norquist.

9. That wasn't the first thing I noticed, but...
even though my initial reaction was recognizing a line up of incredibly stupid people who want to gut investment in education, I'm really not opposed to the implication saying the pledge is stupid. To some of us, it is.
