1. My personal favorite movie scene or line
is the one in Hud, when the old man, played by Melvyn Douglas, is trying to get his grandson, Lonnie (played by Brandon deWilde) not to admire and emulate his Uncle Hud (played by Paul Newman) so much. "Little by little the look of the country changes because of the men we admire."

I did not see that film when it fist came out, but caught it on TV nearly twenty years later. I almost fell off my chair in astonishment at the prescience of that line. And it still holds up well today, nearly fifty years after that movie was made.
