Rescue dog saves new owner's life after he suffers epileptic fit on walk

A rescue rescued by an animal shelter and given a new home has returned the favour to her new owners by saving the life of their son. Liam Brooks, from Plympton, had taken three-year-old dog, Faun, for a walk in the woods at Chaddlewood when he suffered an epileptic seizure. The City College Plymouth plastering student described how he began to feel dazed about 15 minutes into the walk.

He said explained: "A couple of minutes after that I collapsed and had a fit. Faun must have seen me pass out. At first I think she tried to drag me to safety because I had drag marks all over my jeans. Then she started barking really loud to get someone to help. A couple of policemen had been in the area and had heard her barking so came to see what was going on. They found me having a fit and took me to call an ambulance."

4. Rescues rock!
All three of my dogs are rescues and I have no doubt that they'd help me in a time of need.
My big dog is a good guard dog. He likes people, but he looks kind of tough.

Good on you, Faun!

7. I love dogs (I confess) more than most people, but I've gotta question...
"she tried to drag me to safety because I had drag marks all over my jeans"

I really find it hard to believe that little dog could have dragged him any distance. That's just kinda silly.

10. "I had drag marks all over my jeans"
THAT suggests he believes the dog dragged him.

It is a contradiction to his statement "I think" he dragged me, probably to create sensationalism over a dog that simply barked, which is what most dogs would do -- but then it would not have been much of a story.

But I'm just nitpicking, nevermind me. Great story! I'm always happy to hear about good news especially when dogs are involved.

19. The dog left marks on the jeans while attempting to drag him.
It's really not that complicated.

8. I rescued a golden puppy once. He never saw or dealt
with any small children, before a time that a good friend brought over his 4 yr old daughter. My house was dog proof, (given the strength and length of his tail) but not child proof. The girl tripped on an oriental rug, and was heading head first into the corner of a sharp glass table. The dog, sitting 15 feet away between my friend and me, leaped up, in two bounds reached the small child, grabbed her with one paw, picked her up, and on three legs, took her to the center of the room where he sat her down. He then sat in front of her and let her pull on his floppy ears.

Her dad and I were in shock, afraid of the almost horrible injury, and relieved at the magic rescue that this dog pulled off, without any prompting or command.

Amazing animals. Their affinity for us is incredible. And they ask nothing but a skritch on the ear from time to time.

21. My cat did something like that

Not really.

Although she did wake me up and pester me one morning and lead me downstairs, where the ceiling fan was going berserk because one of the blades had broken off. The noisy situation clearly upset her, but it wasn't really an immediate danger to anyone. But if my SO were lying on the floor dying, she probably wouldn't have bothered. Because he wouldn't be making a disturbing noise like the fan did.
