OCALA, Fla. -- The costume of a mascot for an Ocala ice cream parlor is causing a controversy because many passers-by have mistaken the uniform for a KKK protester, according to Ocala.com.

The owners of Ice Cream Family Corner and Sandwiches, at South Pine Avenue and Southwest 17th Street, told the newspaper that potential customers are avoiding their two-month-old business because of the mascot.

9. I can see how someone driving by, seeing that in the distance

and only catching a short glimpse of it, could think it was a KKK hood. Doesn't mean they're stupid or an idiot.

Sheesh. Can't make anyone happy...you'd think on DU of all places, that Southerners would get some credit for avoiding a place that had a mascot that resembled a Klan outfit. Because you know that if people were flocking to this ice cream parlor & someone was *OUTRAGED!!!!!11* by the mascot, the same people calling Southerners "idiots" for avoiding the place would be calling them bigots instead.
