This Company Turns Plastic Bottles Back Into Crude Oil

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But if life gives you plastic? Make crude oil. Vadxx, an Ohio-based energy company, is taking even plastics that can't be recycled and reverting them to the material state from whence they came: crude oil.

More at link.

If this is legit, Ohio should be booming in the near future.

1. There's plenty of technology to keep Americans employed for the next decades.

I still hope that we can do it. And I still believe (albeit a bit less vigorously than in 2008) that Obama and his admin will have a role to play in bringing this kind of change about.

2. Goddamn it, that is great!
Somebody was using their head!

And the idea is so simple, on the order of "why didn't *I* think of that?!!!"

This should be implemented everywhere.

Recommended.

3. Excellent.
One of those ideas that is so simple, nobody sees it.

This is a great start. We need the American Jobs Act to go through, and Obama to get re-elected.

4. It's about frikkin' time!
I've been thinking about that for years.
I'm just not smart enough to make something like that happen...

7. Because the chemical used to make plastic bottles are quite different from ...
the chemicals in either petroleum or gasoline. The conversion is nontrivial, although it has long been recognized to be possible in principle.

Devil in the details.
