I'm pretty sure I heard Boehner say that there was no need for a debate, or discussion of amendments because the "debate" took place during the elections and they won.

And that "the American people elected us to repeal this bill, and that is what we are going to do" ... or something to that effect.

Perhaps I misunderstood Boehner's statement at a press conference that he held while the rest of the House was reading the Constitution (I found that funny btw, he left to give a press conference before they finished).

I had been listening to his press conference over my shoulder (I have a TV in my home office).

...because the fact is that this bill has been terribly compromised despite their claims otherwise. A progressive bill would have included a PO. A liberal bill would have be universal health insurance. We got neither and gave up much more.

10. Supporters of single payer Medicare for All should take the floor and shift the debate.

Let the Republicans attack a single payer system and defend the health insurance industry and big Pharma.

That would be a lot easier and more honest than defending the Health Insurance Industry and Big Pharma Protection Act.

12. The Dems need to bring up Single Payer, Universal Health Care

And the fact we are he very last industrialized nation to go this route. The last holdout. That we can cherry pick from the rest of the world from whats works and what does not and end up with literally the best health care in the world.

Won't happen of course because the health insurance companies and big pharma has bought our government. If congress did try too hard to help the citizens, a few well placed small plane crashes would get the mavericks back in line.
