One person is asking why they are being stopped from marching on the sidewalk - Officer not responding.

I thought they had turned around but someone in the crowd said one of the Officers said they could go on. They handled it well with no violence!

1. That was a tense moment.
Glad that it worked out in the end.

3. Aw, now you can't really blame the NYPD, can you?
It's not like most of them have a shot at catching a genuine terrorist. Sort of like the TSA, bully ordinary people to make yourself feel good about your jackbooted job.

4. They were on their way to the postal workers rally
From The Dissenter at Fire Dog Lake (liveblogging every day).

from articles)
5:03 PM Someone with Occupy Wall Street handed the megaphone at the postal workers rally. Representative with occupation says the occupiers wanted to come down and show support because we need our post offices. The postal workers are invited to come down to Liberty Park and share their grievances with the occupiers. That receives a loud cheer. Then they chant, “What’s disgusting? Union busting!” Remarkable scene.

4:53 PM Occupy Wall Street makes it to a postal workers rally to show their support. Rep. Jerrold Nadler is speaking at the postal workers rally. The protesters tried to get close and were blocking the street. Police moved them out of street to other side of road. They are not on the same side of the road as the postal workers. But, postal workers see their solidarity.

4:25 PM Short dance party happened in the street. Then, apparently, the white shirted officers said the police officers are to escort the protesters wherever they want to go on the sidewalk. This march is in support of postal workers:
