Bachmann suggests Liberty University the greatest ‘in the history of the world’
Source: RawReplay
By David Edwards

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann did a little pandering Wednesday during her visit to Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University.

“Is there any better university in the history of the world?” she asked the crowd of students, who she called “Christian warriors.”

“I think we all know it is awesome to be able to be here today… These are only the early days of what God has planned, not only for this university, but for each one of your lives as well.”

Bachmann delivered her remarks on why it was it was important not to settle.

One of those reasons, she said, was “the very best man that I know, my husband Marcus Bachmann.”

“And ladies and gentlemen, I challenge you. You can have it too! Don’t settle in that department either! Make sure you get God’s very best for you too. It’s worth it.”

5. Souds like she's invested in Christian Mingle.com
You know, the commercial where the huckster, I mean announcer, says "Find God's choice for you....sometimes people wait for God to choose for them when God is saying it's time for you to choose for yourself but God is directing the search so it's really God's choice for you if you choose yourself and...mmffp. bbblle...blah, blah..."

6. The dons at Oxford and Cambridge
are chuckling gently into their teacups. The choking guffaws of laughter from Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, Michigan, Virginia, UC Berkeley and even my own University of Minnesota, not to mention hundreds of other actual universities, are drowning out Batshit's idiocy.

Falwell's "university" is nothing but a high-priced diploma mill for reichwing idiots.

13. I worked with a graduate of Liberty University and he ....
.... had trouble with reading, spelling, and basic writing.

Can I add to your list?

The Sorbonne University, McGill University, the University of British Columbia, King's College London, Northwestern, The University of Wisconsin,
MIT, Vanderbilt, and the World's greatest university;

Ohio University

BTW Michele Bachmann is driving the crazy train to Looney Tune Town.
The first shots of the American Revolution were in New Hampshire, hpv vaccinations cause mental retardation, and Hezbollah in Lebanon want to build missile bases
in Cuba.

8. That gives Harvard something to aim for.
Here's a slightly different opinion:

"If it's really true that the museum at Liberty University has dinosaur fossils which are labeled as being 3,000 years old, then that is an educational disgrace. It is debauching the whole idea of a university, and I would strongly encourage any members of Liberty University who may be here, to leave and go to a proper university." - Richard Dawkins

Fortunately, whatever inadequacies the Liberty University museums suffer from, they aren't likely to affect the 82% of Liberty students who "earn" their "degrees" by online "study." At taxpayer expense.

Speaking of SNL, I wonder if Marcus ever DID tell Michele "Here's a quarter Mizz Thang; buy yourself a clue!"?

20. U.S. News and World Report ranks them 80th in the SOUTH
Edited on Wed Sep-28-11 02:50 PM by yellowcanine
That is a long way from best in the WORLD.

They also have a 96% acceptance rate. That's extremely high for a topnotch university. It pretty much means not many really high quality students are applying there. If you are breathing you probably will get in. Edit - and say you love Jesus and will not hump anyone of the same gender. That probably explains why the acceptance rate is not 100%.

As a comparison, the acceptance rate at Southern Methodist University is 59% and the admission rate for Notre Dame University is about 30%.

24. For those that "don't remember" what happened immediately after the coup that installed BUSH/CHENEY
the very first group that received payback was the religious right, payback was in the form of political appointments and WH staff (many were Liberty University alumni, scoff).

The creation of the Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives followed. That Office was sponsored by former WI Rep. Mark Green (R)-who was appointed Ambassador to Tanzania.

Here are a couple of Liberty University related threads.

That the level of scholarship at Liberty "University" is so low, or that those who go there actually think they are getting an education.
