Regarding the upcoming stolen election of 2012
Edited on Wed Sep-28-11 03:52 PM by Cyrano
Our electoral system is being stolen from us. It's being stolen electronically in the voting booths. And it's being stolen by Republican governors who have used the 2010 census to rig anything and everything that could possibly be rigged regarding our votes.

My guess is that even if Obama "wins" the 2012 election, he'll "lose." (Remember President Al Gore?)

We're still more than a year away from the theft of our votes, our freedoms and our country. So what are we going to do about this insanity? And why isn't any Democratic politician screaming at the top of their lungs about this upcoming crime that could well be the end of "The American Experiment" in democracy?

As for anyone who thinks this can't and won't happen, I don't know what parallel universe you're living in. And for those of us who recognize reality, we really have only two choices. Find some way, any way, to stop the thugs who have stolen America. Or we can run, don't walk, to the nearest exit from this country we thought was ours.

1. Are you working with your local party on election integrity?
You should be. And help GOTV. Screaming does nothing. Act. Do something.

14. No, they refuse such help and advocate for voting machines...
...been there, done that, been called a tinfoil hatter, ended the discussion.

Election integrity here would require weeding out the DLCers, as they're more numerous and more problematic than genuine right-wingers. And this is a supposedly progressive place for America.

2. yes they cheat but there are things you can do .....
..... volunteer w/ your state party to do election protection work, urge everybody to vote early and on paper,
and work on GOTV too.

I have been election protection work in Ohio for a while now and if done right it really works.

4. It can only be stolen if the votes are close enough
My guess is that Obama won in 2008 by many millions more votes than we will ever know about.

If the theft is too obvious, the peasants will take to the streets with torches and pitchforks.

On the other hand, I don't remember seeing any torches and pitchforks back in 2000 when the the Supreme Court helped the Chimp steal the election. So maybe I'm the one who is living in some kind of fantasy.

Wasn't 2000 fairly obvious? And as far as I remember, the peasants mostly sat on their asses.

5. You're asking why people aren't screaming at something that hasn't happened yet?
You can make predictions all day long, but they are just predictions. You're outlining a possible future scenario, but you have no crystal ball. I'll wait for the results to come in before I react to them.

9. Get involved.
I think you will find that there are committees and plenty of volunteer opportunities in your community to help ensure election integrity. If there's not, work with your chair and get something going. You know, before it's too late.

10. If you want to double down this early on massive election fraud in 2012, then do so
Though it would be nice if you could issue an apology and admit you were wrong if Obama wins by a very narrow margin, which is a plausible scenario (though not under your framework, where a close election is all but guaranteed to go the other way).

12. Obama is obedient to the corporate masters and the banksters.
Why on earth would they want to sabotage their golden goose?

13. I believe
that Obama's actions will lose him the election, and not rigged elections.
