KANSAS CITY, Mo.— An Olathe woman faces a felony charge of DWI-aggravated offender in connection with a Wednesday afternoon vehicular accident in the parking lot of a Kansas City school, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Kelly R. Dixon, 42, has previously been convicted of DWI-related offenses, including Involuntary Manslaughter in 1997, according to court records filed today.
On Wednesday, Dixon wrecked the car she was driving in the school parking lot, where she was attempting to pick up her child, court documents stated. Earlier in the day, she had several drinks in a nearby establishment, leaving without paying, a witness told police. Dixon admitted to police she had been drinking before driving, was drunk and was upset about personal issues.
