Dear Dr. Alexander:
I am concerned that Dr. James Forrester, apparently a Fellow of the ACPM, and
also a North Carolina State Senator, is intentionally broadcasting false and
anti-scientific health care information and statistics, in violation of all
professional medical ethics.
At the web page at this next link, by scrolling down just a bit you can find
two audio recordings on which interviewer Mike Signorile challenges Dr.
Forrester about the veracity of various health care claims he has made to the
public.

It should not be ignored that Dr. Forrester has been making these fraudulent
health care claims in the context of hate-mongering against sexual minorities,
an activity which, in itself, I personally find unbecoming of a health care
professional. After Dr. Forrester had to admit that he had apparently lied
about a source for his fraudulent health care claims, he tried telling the
interviewer that the health care claims he had made came from a book written
by a non-physician.
Now, I have a few questions for you.
1) Is Dr. Forrester really a Fellow of the ACPM?
2) Where may I find the ACPM's Code of Physician Ethics?
3) Do you, personally, as President of the ACPM endorse such fraudulent
claims as those made by Dr. Forrester on the above-mentioned audio tapes?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The quick answer to your questions
is that Dr. Forrester is not, and never has been, a member of ACPM (much less
a Fellow, which is our highest designation of membership). However, this is
troubling to us, too, that he's apparently claiming to be a Fellow of ACPM,
and we would like to know where Dr. Forrester is making these proclamations so
that we can approach him and demand that he cease falsely using ACPM
credentials in his campaign or wherever else he's using it. If you can point
us to some places where he's using those credentials, we'd be most
appreciative. Many thanks.

Forrester uses his medical expertise as credibility in claiming that gay people die 20 years earlier than everybody else and other outrageous lies.

If Forrester is now a "former" ACPM fellow then he would have had to have been appointed, served and then stepped down - all within the space of a year.
