There are many reasons why I can't physically be there. The threat of losing my job. The threat of a short fuse in which I can see myself punching a cop in the face for trying to assault me. The list goes on and on. But what I can do is send monetary donations and food to support the tremendously brave people that are there doing what I wish every person in the country could do. I'm sorry if there have been multiple answers to this post already, but I've missed them here...

It depends on exactly where they are. A few blocks up, towards Fulton St., there are a lot of smaller restaurants that are run by immigrants (just like in the rest of NYC).
