My friend Sara Watkins: guest host for prairie home companion tonite (with live listen link)

The last time anyone can remember our host taking a break from his lifelong duty to radio hosting, Gerald Ford was President. This Saturday, he's going to sit back and relax while Sara Watkins intros the guests, cracks the jokes and plays a little string music all her own. With special guests, claw hammer-banjo jammer Abigail Washburn, and American musical storyteller Tom Brosseau, expect Guy Noir, the deep winter News from Lake Wobegon, and the Royal Academy of Radio Actors; Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Tom Keith. So fear not, the youngster comes with her fiddle finely tuned, the greatest band in radio—The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band—and a California tan.

2. it is a great show.
I met them all a few years back when I was doing production for their Miami show. Some of the nicest music folks to be met.

3. "The St. Paul Hospice Quartet . . .
"There are only three of them . . ."

And the PHC audience is so tuned in to him that they don't expect a punch line as he moves on with the story.

4. How exciting... Is the Fitzgerald theater in St. Paul?
And is this where the show usually is?

And the backups she did on Ray LaMontagne's first album. <3

Not a shabby fiddle/uke/guitar player either. :bounce:

I'd love to be pickin' my 5 string with her.

15. It was a good show.
A couple of hiccups, but that's the beauty-mark of a live show.
