Mother****ing Marlboros on a mother****ing plane: Intoxicated bathroom smoker faces criminal charges

(CNN) -- A brawling smoker who turned his trans-Atlantic flight from France into something resembling a bar fight is facing criminal charges.

Franck Lebrun was on a Delta Air Lines flight from Nice, France, to New York last Saturday when things became tense, according to a complaint filed at the U.S. District Court in New York.

During the flight, the crew suspected that someone had been smoking cigarettes in one of the lavatories. Other passengers said it was Lebrun, so the crew confronted him once, and then a second time when he again headed for the bathroom. Lebrun looked intoxicated and smelled of cigarettes and alcohol, according to the complaint.

He then approached a flight attendant "in an aggressive manner" and pushed her away, according to the complaint. When she told him not to touch her, Lebrun pushed her away again, court papers say.

2. Slightly off topic but ... cancel the F**** Air Marshall program.

After more tense moments, a federal air marshal identified himself to Lebrun and told him to return to his seat.
As Lebrun walked toward the back of the plane "he continued to shout and waive his arms in an excited manner," according to the complaint.
Two other air marshals identified themselves to Lebrun and asked him to show his passport.

that there happened to be three coming from a vacation/resort location on the same flight?

95% of flights have no air marshalls at all but this flight had three.

I bet you won't find 3 airmarshalls on the red eye to Madison, WI in the middle of January.

12. Just because they identified themselves

as Air Marshals, that doesn't mean they were on that plane in a professional capacity at the time.

One of my sons-in-law just became a US Marshal in December. He had to take a plane from GA to MA to pick up his wife and their belongings for the drive down to their new home in TX, where he has been assigned.

He was probably not the only Marshal on that plane that day. He wasn't on it for business, but if any trouble erupted, he would be obligated to identify himself before trying to quell a disturbance, etc.


In fact, when he and his wife got on the plane to come back this way, he was waved through security while my stepdaughter had to go through the whole process. When they got on board the plane they were immediately taken to meet the pilot, who said, "We're glad to have you aboard, sir"....after which they were seated right up front.


I don't see anything strange about there being three Air Marshals on a flight from Paris....or anywhere, really. Could have been coincidence. In any case, I'll bet the airline crews are pretty happy to have any Marshal aboard for any reason...

I would be happy to have one or more air marshals on board to deal with the issue.

11. Except there are so few airmarshalls that 95% of flights have none.

That includes every single flight involving terrorists.
911 - no marshalls on any of the 4 flights.
Shoe bomber - no marshalls
Underwear bomber - no marhsalls

Actually since the program began in 1970 the Air Marhsall program hasn't stopped a single terrorist attack nor has it detained a single terrorist.

However we have 3 Air Mashalls on the exact same flight coming back from a nice tourist location.
The Air Marshall program is corrupt from the top down and this is just more evidence.

When you start putting 2 or 3 marshalls on the same flight the coverage is even less maybe. 2% or 1% of flights.
