Intolerance and a cup of coffee.
Proximity to a high school seems a logical choice for a new coffee house, but a brew spot in Springfield has some leaders in that Massachusetts community worried.

Some Springfield school and city officials are concerned that teenagers on their way to and from classes are stopping by Holy Grounds Coffee House and getting a cup of intolerance with their cup of Joe.

This is because Holy Grounds is a hangout established by Scott Lively, the anti-gay activist who several years ago penned the essay “Is hating ‘haters’ hateful?” The opinion piece began, “Hate has a pretty bad name in the world today. No one wants to be called a hater, especially Christians, which is probably why we get accused of it all the time by our opponents. Homosexuals are especially fond of calling people haters. They even invented the word homophobia, which means hate and fear of homosexuals, envisaged as a mental illness (a phobia is an anxiety disorder).”

Lively, in that essay, said he hates being called a homophobe and has worked hard to let you and I know there is a difference between hating someone and hating their behavior. Do you feel the love?

To read a article like this, on this day, sucks.
