The Powers That Be (PTB) Are Like Dark Matter: Mostly Invisible

Good morning from the lovely Stony Brook Islands in the Green Mountains of central Vermont. We may see some snow today or tonight.

I was just thinking about how the shadowy corporate powers that appear to have a controlling influence on our daily lives are a lot like dark matter: mostly invisible.

Just as scientists are convinced that dark matter exists because of its apparent gravitational influence on galaxies outside of our own, the handful of people controlling more than half the world's wealth (and it could be argued, indirectly control it all) are largely invisible to the rest of the world's 7 billion people. They live isolated in a world of their own, as separate from the vast majority of humanity as the gods of Mt. Olympus are from mere mortals below in ancient myth.

We know they are there. They operate behind a veil of central banks and trans-national institutions, such as the Bank for International Settlements based in Basil, Switzerland, (the central bank of the world's central banks) which is subordinate to no sovereign government.

Yet, as intentionally obscured from the public as these forces are, we know they are there, and more of the public is slowly waking up to begin to understand the pernicious nature of this entity, these powers that be.
