Occupy SF/Occupy Oakland live thread
The DU moderators will probably get annoyed if I keep posting individual updates. I suggest we keep all new updates on this thread as both situations are very fluid.

3. I don't see how they use the bridge.
Even without the police, it's just too dangerous to try and walk across no matter what time it is.

According to Twitter, there was 3 visual confirmations of SFPD moving en mass to clear the area. It's on!

There is a lot of stuff flying around Twitter and I am getting too sleepy to sift through the BS. I'll wait and see what happens at the Plaza.

14. Randy, there are City Supervisors present, correct? Are they
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 02:43 AM by coalition_unwilling
also going to be arrested? Don't the Supervisors control the SFPD budget? Arresting the Supervisors seems to me kind of like biting the hand that feeds you (or shitting where you eat), but maybe I don't understand the political situation up there.

Livestream feeds have been choppy for me all night, both video and audio, so just trying to keep myself up to speed by any means possible.

19. It will be interesting
Interim Mayor Ed Lee was there earlier to look things over. He is running for election. Three supervisors are there. Two of them, Avalos and Chiu, are running for mayor. Public Defender Jeff and Adachi and State Senator Leland Yee are also there. We could see the mayor potentially have four of his opponents arrested.

23. "We could see the mayor potentially have four of his
opponents arrested." -- That is positively Hemingway-esque in its understated irony, pathos and eloquence. Tip of the hat and thanks for the details :)
