How in the hell is this even a controversy? We ALL have the ABSOLUTE right to film a cop making an arrest or even just behaving badly, when in public and in uniform, and PARTICULARLY when he or she transgresses.

I usually come down on the side of cops doing good cop work, but this is a point on which I think we depart. I can not conceive of a single situation where it would be wrong to capture them on video.

(Feel better, Frank.)

Isn't that the line authoritarians use to justify intrusion into our private lives? Why should the police, or any other public servant, be exempt from scrutiny?

5. I was just repeating the official explanation of the authorities..
I'm sorry if it is intellectually deficient.

I went with the official rhetoric I had not that I wished I had.
