Cain also said Tuesday on Fox News that he is “absolutely sure” he didn’t ask the women that were the subject of the POLITICO story to come to his hotel room.

But the sources describe how the woman recounted her allegations against Cain to two members of the restaurant association’s board – sources who include an acquaintance of the woman’s and a person who attended the restaurant association meeting at which the woman lodged her complaint.

The sources say the woman told them Cain invited her to his hotel room at the event, and that both the context and the way Cain phrased the invitation made her feel extremely uncomfortable, even incensed.

After her complaint, Kilgore – who is still serving as the association’s legal counsel today – found out about it and looked into it, according to someone familiar with the association.

I wonder about many take downs that we see. I think the overlords orchestrate take downs, and I also
think they spy and wait for certain politicians to screw up, by wiretapping them and monitoring them.

I do know that Cain in not "their" man. Romney is. I think the corporatocracy has had enough with
these rogue candidates who aren't supposed to win, but end up taking the lead. They're tired from
the hours they spent schooling Obama.

6. That same thought has occurred to me...but, in this case, there's historical evidence.

They paid hush money to make the problem go away. And, of course, when it occurred, he wasn't exactly a household name, running for the Republican nomination. But the idea of using 'victims' to take down a politician is something that is in the arsenal of people willing to sideline threats to their status quo. Elliot Spitzer comes to mind....a sex scandal is a great way to neutralize someone who has demonstrated a willingness to prosecute financial crimes. We sure need to be evaluating each of these cases carefully and on their own merits.

I think they want to torpedo his candidacy now, before he becomes a runaway train in the race. Frankly, I'm not sure this will be enough to take him down, though. The fact that this appears to be the work of the pro-Romney, pro-establishment GOP could make Cain even more popular with the "anyone but Mitt" Republican primary voter. His fundraising is actually increasing. It will be fascinating if this backfires and helps him to win the nomination.

Of course, I'm rooting for Cain to win. I think there's lots more interesting things with regards Cain and Godfathers/Pillsbury, and the NRA that are just waiting to be dropped in the GE. He's a useful idiot...but he may just have enough gas in the tank to beat Mitt.
