Minnesota want's Wisconsin's ID law, and they want to change their constitution to implement it....

Wisconsin's league of Women voters have taken Walker to court over his ID law because it violates our State Constitution..


Minnesota Republicans failed to get their version of the proposal into law, mostly due to opposition from Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton, but are talking about asking voters to put the concept into the state Constitution.

Minnesota Republicans want the measure in the Constitution, where courts or future legislatures cannot simply overturn it as they could a law.

Reaction was mixed when Wisconsin elections officials tried out the photo ID concept during the recall elections. In some places, lines moved fine. But elsewhere there were reports of delays and fears that there will be even longer waits during bigger elections, such as next year’s presidential vote.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker spearheaded the ID law and said that it only makes sense since the state already requires an identification to obtain a library card, cold medicine and other goods and services.http://capitolchat.areavoices.com/2011/10/24/wisconsin-voter-photo-id-law-lands-in-court/

I have always had a pretty good opinion on Minnesota but latelyi have begun to wonder. They have begun to elect crazy politicians and now may be poised to put voter suppression into their constitution. I know Lake Wobegon won't support it.

What rights did he take away... Don't get me wrong... I was surprised to learn that Minnesota elected him... I only knew of him as a boxer.... and I only know am learning that he is prepared to stand up for our rights....

6. Ventura was elected with only 35% of the vote - it was a 3 way race

I take comfort knowing the majority of Minnesotans didn't vote for him.

One of Ventura's big things was returning the state surplus to the taxpayers (sadly the DFL & Republicans went along with this). So we all got checks for a couple hundred dollars and the rainy day fund was depleted. (Ever notice how politicians claim a tax surplus belongs to everyone, but a deficit belongs only to the most vulnerable members of society?)

He also pushed for a big drop in license tag fees - in Minnesota they're based on the value of the vehicle and Jesse owned several expensive cars at the time. The drop in tag revenue affected how much money was going to highways.

Overall he was just a blowhard and an embarassment. And, BTW, he was a wrestler.
