Chicago Trader Dumps McDonald’s Applications On The 99 Percent

Chicagoist reports that someone at the Chicago Board of Trade blanketed Occupy Chicago protesters with hundreds of McDonald’s applications, mocking the demonstrators camped outside. Employees at the organization — the world’s oldest futures exchange — have heckled Occupy Chicago protesters almost since day one. They’ve proudly hung “We Are The 1%” in their office windows, papered the movement with fliers, and sent out email spam. Now, they seem to have moved on to “job counseling.” Though it may not be very good advice, as McDonald’s recently hired just 60,000 workers out of 1 million applications they received.

I've known some in my day. Mostly low-paid douche-bags working for high-paid 1%ers. The low paid douche-bags feel all sharp and rich cause they work for rich guys.

Back in the day, it was $300 bucks cash a week with no benefits. No taxes deducted. My roommate was one of them when we graduated college - to hear him talk, he was cornering the bond market. He worked for a big bond trader. Now he sells real-estate. Last I heard, he turned in to a real racist asshole.

McDonald's isn't hiring. They just had a jobs fair a few months ago to fill vacancies.


Besides being an asshole, it was hardly helpful and just shows the disconnect...there are no jobs unless you already have a job and want to move (but it will be lateral or downgrade)in the engineering trades or executive type thingies (can't call them jobs, they really don't do anything).


And this guy that did it, isn't even part of the 1% - everyone in that building only works FOR the 1%.

Some of them do work damn hard...they put in 12-14 hour days most days and it's very stressful. No he and my sister (who is a stay at home mom) are not the 1%. He makes good money but I'd say he's upper middle class range/lower upper class range, not filthy rich. Although some of the bonuses he gets blow my mind. (By the way he's an Obama supporter) His brother who also is a trader is an uber Republican. He says there are a lot of people who worship the god of money there.
