1. Yes, it seems old Darth Cheney is looking
for a transplant. I don't think my heart could live long in that evil body anyway. The darkness would shrivel it up in months.

which will promptly reject his evil bag of bones.

32. I'm very sorry
I have completely forgotten how he sounds. Well, mostly, but the only thing left is enough to help me turn off the radio if his voice is suddenly in my car. Unfortunately, I heard the Dick this morning by accident.

16. Heh. Well there *have* been instances...
...of organ transplant recipients suddenly liking and disliking the same foods as the donor, when they hadn't had those tastes before. Something may indeed carry over.

22. If that 'decent 'person were using medicinal cannabis
UNOS would deny them from what I understand. They would however have no qualms about using a donor who smokes weed /s organs. I have a real problem with that. and I am a recipient

24. I think the poster disagrees with the way UNOS denies organs to 'decent people'
and allows the wealthy and well-connected first crack at donated organs (such as the LA hospital that had to shut down its tx program due to giving wealthy foreigners organs ahead of patients with the greatest medical need).

I have FSGS and will probably need a tx at some point. Between my rare blood group and the crookedness of the system, a directed donation is about the only chance I might have. I sympathize with the poster to whom you responded.

18. The plural of "anecdote" is not "data".
How do you feel about Jerry Garcia getting a donor liver?

I refuse to save anyone's life because that person might be the next Hitler. (Yeah I said it. I godwinned the thread. ho ho)

25. I don't think it's 'next Hitler;' I think it's well-connected over medical need
At least one transplant program (St Vincent in LA) was shut down over giving organs to wealthy Saudis ahead of those with the greatest medical need. These recipients may have been the kindest people on earth, but the program placed them ahead of much sicker patients - patients who would have normally received the organs - in return for payment. This is just one example; there are others (Mantle is another).

35. Saw that he'd "...have to decide if he wanted a transplant"
:wtf: :nuke:

I'm sorry, but that is just WRONG on so many levels...

...but then, I can see why he wouldn't want to cross over, seeing what's probably waiting for him.

A LOT of people who owe their untimely deaths to him are going want an accounting...
