12. Eh, it's just a tradition.

Part of being liberal/progressives is knowing that nothing is written in stone, we can be flexible to change. So if this is the way it's being done now, whatever! But that's why the contests are run outside the Group itself, so that all DUers can participate whether they can afford a star or not. But I've been out of the loop for quite some time now, so perhaps it's morphed into this over time and I just never noticed before. So no worries! :hi:
