Started out with a trip to hospital for me to repair a separated tendon in my foot and damaged cartilage and chipped bone in my ankle. I was literally on the table getting prepped when my wife's cell phone wrang...it was our son. He recently graduated with a BS in design, been back at home for a few months, not doing much in the way of job hunting (said he was finalizing his demo reel and web site). Well, Monday night he had finally sent out a resume and link to the online reel/web site, and Tuesday got called for an interview! In Baltimore, no less. They're flying him down next week.
ZZZZ the gas kicks in, I wake up four hours later...the surgery was a success and, even better, not as serious as they feared, didn't have to put screws in my ankle thereby cutting a month off the ten-week recovery time. I'm still on my back for two weeks, but the light at the end of the tunnel is considerably closer.
So, I'm finally waking up in the evening, checking election returns coming in. Our clients are winning everywhere! We did tons of stuff for SEIU in Ohio, virtually all of the Nassau/Suffolk County races on Long Island, loads of races and ballot issues all over the country, and scored big. What a day!
