There is also a MURDER in the Pedo State University mess

DA Who Refused To Prosecute Sandusky In '98 Missing Since '05

Ray Gricar disappeared in 2005. Gricar’s car and laptop were found along the Susquehanna River, but police have yet to find the former district attorney.

In 1998, Gricar made the decision not to file charges against Sandusky after a mother told university police Sandusky had inappropriate contact with her 11-year-old son.

Over the weekend, Sandusky was charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse that authorities said involved eight boys during a 10-year period.

The grand jury that indicted Sandusky last week referred specifically to that case. After a lengthy investigation by university police Detective Ronald Shreffler, the investigation was closed after Gricar decided there would be no criminal charges.

Police tried to access Gricar's computer, but the hard drive was destroyed by the water. Last summer, Gricar was declared deceased by the courts. He had never explained his decision not to prosecute Sandusky

1. We don't know it was murder....
Gricar's brother jumped from the same bridge a few years earlier......a suicide.

There were also numerous cases pending of all sorts that people claim led to Gricar committing suicide, or staging his own death, or "murder".

11. Nor do we know that his disappearance ...
... is necessarily related to this case.

23. In fact, there's strong evidence Gricar planned whatever happened.
Edited on Wed Nov-09-11 05:44 PM by TheWraith
According to the police, prior to his disappearance he had searched online on the topic "water damage to notebook computer," "how to wreck a hard drive," and "how to fry a hard drive." His laptop was discovered months later in the Susquehanna River under a bridge, missing it's hard drive. The hard drive was discovered two months later, a hundred yards away, and completely unreadable even to a data recovery outfit that pulled information off drives from the Space Shuttle Columbia. So whether the guy disappeared voluntarily, or committed suicide, it seems fairly evident he was moving under his own power at the time.

3. "hard drive was destroyed by the water" -- not likely
The water would not affect the disks inside a sealed drive. Data recovery firms can open the drive, take out the disks, and read the data. It is expensive, but it can be done.

4. If I recall correctly....
Edited on Wed Nov-09-11 02:30 PM by ProudToBeBlueInRhody
....Gricar google searched on his office PC "How to destroy a hard drive". Not sure if the drive was smashed first before it was chucked into the water to make it easier to be ruined. I'm pretty sure the investigation tried to recover the stuff, but it had been wiped anyhow.

7. Yes, according to wiki, the drive was not in the laptop, was found smashed elswhere in the river
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Gricar

Sounds more like he decided to enter his own "witness protection program" and voluntarily disappeared. Or someone went to considerable trouble to make it look like he did.

5. Isn't it difficult for a body to just sort of go missing, especially inland?
?? You'd have to fall into an unused well or commit suicide somewhere very isolated.

15. If you want to know the definition of "very isolated"
Drive 45 minutes in nearly any direction from State College, Pennsylvania (with my apologies to Altoona).

19. Agree .... Some think PA is Pitt and Philly ... but in reality, most of PA is very rural.
Losing a body in PA would be very easy.

...a tiny town called Beech Creek.

27. About 20 miles from Jersey Shore ...
...The exit from I-80 that would be closest to Beech Creek would have been Lock Haven.

6. I don't think it was murder--I think Mr. Gricar is sipping Mai Tai's somewhere.
His first wife worked for PSU. I think Mr. Gricar successfully got a payout, and then took off.

8. The Gricar case has been a catch-all for all sorts of conspiracy
Some guy called Coast to Coast AM a year ago, and told George Noory that Gricar was ready to bring down the CIA's drug trafficking operations.

Zero evidence of murder.

I don't see how posting irresponsible and foolish accusations helps anything.

21. I didn't accuse anyone of anything

It is highly unusual for a DA to go missing like that, and most suicides are apparent.

The manner of his disappearance suggests foul play.

Perhaps you need to review the definition of "accusation".

22. Murder, suicide, disappeared, it could be a number of things
One thing to look at is insurance payout...Google "Major Bashinsky" for an odd case of a lawyer trying to make his suicide look like a murder. I'm sure others have disappeared themselves while trying to make the circumstances look suspect.
