Obama aligning with the Republicans is politically astute

When Obama sides with the Republicans, and against progressive Democrats, on things like business friendly regulation, cutting Social Security, extending the Bush tax cuts and amending health care reform, he is improving his image with independents who want the parties to work together. It will help him in the 2012 election.

The only problem is these things will COMPLETELY FUCK THIS COUNTRY UP!!!

Obama cut social security????....I missed that news....and what's wrong with amending health care reform? All of us think the bill could have been better, right? Did Obama say he wants to amend it so that 30 million will not get coverage in a couple of years (which is what the repubs want)?

I don't see where Obama is aligning himself with Repubs....some people here live in fantasy world and keep to their narrative no matter what the facts are....sounds like FOX News.

Obama, who faught so hard to get health care reform, is never going to allow the bill to get worse under his watch....he put all his political capital in this bill....it's his baby....he's not going to sign a bill that makes it worse....some liberals are just so down on things no matter what the situation is....really sad....

I think he stated the purpose of looking at regulations was to make jobs, not to be just business friendly. This, I hope, might include regulations that make it easy for business to ship jobs overseas to be recended .
Anyway, the man is way smarter than I am. He sees things many moves ahead and has proved my first reactions to his moves to be laughable. I can see this move on regulations as being positive for jobs more than businesses. The shellacking in the last election was about jobs and the economy.

16. He got the Independent vote when he was talking like a progressive

in the campaign. Much of the vote was lost after he began moving to the right in the 2010 election.

And if all he's thinking of is getting reelected then he never deserved to be president in the first place.
