While most Ohioans are reserving judgment on the performance of new Gov. John Kasich, they already are saying they don't like several of the ideas being kicked around by his administration and GOP supporters, a new poll shows.
The survey found that Ohioans oppose: *Eliminating the tax on estates of more than $338,000, 51 percent to 36 percent. *Limiting the ability of state and local government workers to bargain collectively, 51 to 34 percent. *Laying off state workers, 46 percent to 43 percent. *Leasing the Ohio Turnpike to a private company, 51 percent to 30 percent. *Hiring a private company to run state prisons, 51 percent to 33 percent. *Eliminating the possibility of a tax or fee increase to help balance the state budget, 50 percent to 42 percent
Most of these issues were opposed by landslide margins.
You had to know that Kasich was going to try to privatize everything if elected. So, why did Ohioans vote for the guy?
