I'll tell you something about harassment:
It took me about 17 yrs of repeated harassment and discrimination before I uttered a word to a single person. Once I finally acknowledged and spoke about it the game was over. I filed 3 complaints with the EEOC within 5 yrs time 3 different people 3 different situations and yes they were over and above. Why didn't I say anything before? I work in a man's world I figured to just deal with it, I didn't want to be seen as a "baby" who couldn't handle it.
But the day I walked on the job holding my hand out to shake my new bosses hand and he starts yelling at me that he can't believe "They sent me another female, I'll get rid of you just like the last one" (which he did) that was the day I talked. I can honestly say in 20+ yrs there have been at the LEAST 50 incidents at LEAST. Those women aren't lying and I am sure by Cain's attitude there are a hell of alot more out there.

2. Every story needs to be told
Silence only compounds the problem.

4. And I believe once someone speaks up
It has already happened to them multiple times. Not necessarily the same perpetrator.

5. I was referring to everyone, not only to your terrible experiences
and I'm sorry you had to endure it. I believe it would be a good thing if our culture actually encouraged people to speak out at the first hint of harassment. I realize that's a tall order, but change occurs slowly where something of this nature is concerned. I don't claim to have any answers...just making an observation that society needs to address the issue and take steps toward accommodating people who encounter harassment.

6. Oh No!
I am sorry. I was in agreement with you and just added more to it. It is difficult to express things thru a keyboard.
