Down with Morning Joe. Up with Chris Hayes.
My god, Hayes' show is so refreshing, so intelligent. It's issues-focused, not just about Joey Scab's fond memories of when he was awesome in Congress and he forced Bill Clinton to created a big surplus. Hayes discusses OWS, the Keystone pipeline and its ramifications, civil rights. human rights...all in one show. Tomorrow, it will once again be Joe and his panel of Republicans and Dinos telling us how much of a failure Obama is, and three hours of "We have to reduce entitlements and cut taxes!" while Mika bats her eyes.

How about switching 'em around? Put Hayes on weekday mornings, maybe co-hosting or alternating with Melissa Harris-Perry. I feel like I actually learn something when I listen to either of them.

4. I really, really miss a T.V. morning show. I can't watch those
two and I can't stand the today show anymore (Matt Lauer rubs me the wrong way/republican blowhole). I would love to be able to listen to something each morning. The today show used to be a morning ritual for me, literally for decades until 9/11 turned it into a Bush/jingoistic rah-rah show. Now I don't turn on the tube until usually REv. AL comes on. He's grown on me. ; )

I LOVE Chris Hayes and would LOVE a daily morning show with him as commentator. I TIVO his weekend show every week.

5. Any chance we can petition MSNBC to do a switcheroo?
If they want to see their ratings spike, that's ALL they need to do. GO CHRIS!!!!

16. Yah! I would love to see Joe with a 3-person panel,
trying to actually discuss some issues.

7. I think Chris Hayes' show is the best on MSNBC to be honest
I was really impressed with former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson. He sounds more liberal than most of the Democrats I hear interviewed.

8. Up is the type of show MSNBC needed to start as their Morning Show. Instead of having their weekday
show anchored by someone living in the same reality as their prime time shows, they picked a former RW congressman. I remember Scarborough from the 90's. He was truly one of the worst and nastiest back then - like Cantor or someone like that now.

It would have been fine if Joe was a regular but by him being the lead, it skews the morning show to the right. Someone from the left anchoring it but having a RW person be a regular would have worked but they screwed it up. Now it is generally a "conventional wisdom, DC villager, centrist to RW" show.

I just wish they would have someone as a regular that would counter Joe's garbage - but they don't, probably because Joe would not like it.

They should have Howard Dean on every day or somebody like that.

I hate when Dems or Dem-pundits/politicians go on and change their tune to a much more wishy/washy, blah, centrist mode because of Joe. Ugh.

9. I never watch the Sunday morning shows
but I love Chris Hayes. He is knowledgeable and the guests he has on seem to have something worthwhile to say.

I was even rather impressed with Gary Johnson, probably would never vote for him because he is a republican but at least he seems to have some sensible ideas.

14. I don't watch the Sunday shows either - except occasionally Chris Matthews' Sunday show.
The other shows are about talking points & BS. Up has two hours and gets deeper into discussions then pretty much any other place. It also doesn't get into the yelling/conflict either. It truly is a little oasis.

Today's multiple segments on Climate Change were awesome.

11. I love the show but godDAMMIT they have a lot of commercial breaks.
Probably a normal amt of total commercial time per hour but they seem to take a short break every 5 minutes or so. Unfortunately by about the third time I see that grizzled old motorcycle guy complaining about his meds I start channel flipping and inevitably come back to Hayes just in time for the next break.

15. I DVR it too. I don't want to be up that early on the weekends. I can watch it when I want & not
miss anything.

I don't know why they don't replay it later in the day. They did one weekend but haven't since then.

If anyone missed it, yesterday, Chris had a great segment on the generational war & Republicans & just how bizarrely twisted that entire thing is - this is it:

Definitely Recommend watching it!
