KGW NewsPORTLAND -- Officers are lined up along Main Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues, in front of a group of Occupy Portland protesters defying orders to leave.
A crowd was growing around the park that was made up of protesters, reporters, photographers and onlookers.
Around 1 p.m., police in riot gear encircled Chapman Square and urged the final group of protesters to move out. Witnesses said the officers were trying to clear the park when some protesters locked arms and refused to move. Portland Police Chief Mike Reese said 15 people were arrested.
“Some of those folks refused to move and we took them into custody," Reese said. “Some folks refused to leave the corner. We had to push them back away, but it was very minimal force.”
