Texas Gov. Rick Perry has made more than 1,000 requests for federal aid over the last decade, an Associated Press analysis found.

AUSTIN (November 14, 2011)—GOP presidential hopeful Rick Perry regularly bashes runaway federal spending as he campaigns, but he's spent nearly 11 years as Texas' governor asking Washington for money.

Perry made 1,180 requests for federal aid since 2001, according to an Associated Press analysis of state documents.

That's a rate of one every four days.
