81-year-old Republican w/pneumonia arrested, mistreated in PDX raid

An 81-year-old art appraiser who ventured downtown Sunday to take his wife shopping was swept up in the arrests by police clearing Lownsdale Square.

I'm paraphrasing from news story:

Visibly bruised by the experience and recovering from pneumonia. The fifth of 51 people arrested. Well dressed in good clothes. Wife was shopping; he wanted to show support for Occupy Portland and be a witness in the event of police brutality, so he strolled over to watch.

Then he was yanked out of the crowd.

Officers banged his head twice into the concrete as they twisted his arms hard behind his back, snapping on a zip tie. He told police they were making an illegal arrest. "I'm not part of this group. I'm 81 years old. I'm not fit for this kind of thing."

Charged with disorderly conduct.

people. And to bang the head of a man that age, any age actually, into the ground, that is definitely a crime and I hope he sues them everything they have.
