OWS Eviction. An Observation on Why DC - OWS was NOT Evicted...ON PURPOSE!

Let's see...a nationally co-ordinated effort to simultaneously evict OWS movements in cities across the US...But, not DC...hmmmm...Why?

If you take the view that WS($) has indeed captured the political process and that 'govt' is there to both do their bidding AND take the heat from those who are being screwed THEN...

It becomes very obvious that the Washington DC OWS camp was allowed to stay ON PURPOSE.

If you want to "Occupy" then DC is the only option available...protesters are being corralled to the DC OWS because $ wants your anger re-directed at there "paid-for" punching bags (Govt, politicians, Washington)...and doing so is an attempt to take the spotlight off of the real forces of power (ie. WS & $)

Be aware of this....It seems true to me.

3. Of course, the space OWS DC is on is Federal land and is policed by the US Park Service.

They are used to protests, demonstrations, etc, and are much less likely to break out the SWAT gear.

11. The U.S. Park Police are vicious

There's nothing they love better than clubbing and spraying protesters, or riding their horses into a crowd. I live near DC, have been to more protests than I can count on fingers and toes, and know whereof I speak.

The Occupy DC crowd in McPherson Square is surrounded 24/7 by cops and cop vehicles. We went there Sunday evening to deliver bags of groceries and saw what it was like. Believe me, whenever the Powers That Be give the signal, the DC protesters will be rounded up, clubbed and dragged off to jail.

Heard from a FAUX watching 'conservative American' that she would have much more respect of the OWS folks if they stormed the WH and took it over! Reminded her that these were peaceful American and the act she described was treasonous. What she describes is an attack on our president and I am certain the seeds come from FOX.

I personally think that D.C. isn't scared off by protests like some cities, and not because they plan on beating heads in or anything like that. This is a working class town, underneath the government trappings and architecture. I've been protesting in D.C. for years and years. Hell, I'm even old enough to remember Tent City. I think a march to D.C. could attract a few hundred thousand folks by the time it reached the city. I wouldn't want to dissuade that.

7. Protests are just a matter of daily life in DC. Or at least that is

the perspective I gained, being born there in 1955 and living in the suburbs until 2003 (returning to DC time to time specifically to protest).

Protests in DC perhaps do not so much interrupt the daily flow of life, are not shocking or as thought-provoking attention-getting as are protests in other cities, unless huge numbers of people show up, and unless the media actually covers those huge numbers.
