Even more than George W., Sarah has kept herself within a safe "bubble," where she only allows herself to be interviewed now by conservative media, communicates mainly through FB and Twitter, etc. Any criticism of her, she could slough off as being from the "lamestream" media or liberals. Learning that she's at 38% positive in opinion polls could be the first real criticism she's been forced to face, and she could be shell-shocked.

Unfortunately, while that would be nice, it's probably not true.
