1. While that's the sad truth, you really can't blame the cops - that's their job. |
|
It is wrong and you can see on their faces that most of them know it is wrong. So what do they do? Do they disobey orders and go home to tell their SOs that they were fired for doing the right thing? I might, I don't know. In this post-shrub economy, it is hard to blame someone for doing something immoral to keep a job when they are so hard to come by. I'm torn.

If it's good enough for their raises and pensions, it's good enough for EVERYBODY'S raises and pensions.

That is a witless remark to make in the shadow of the Twin Towers.
Dehumanizing union members is not helpful to anyone but the right wing.

6. They dehumanize themselves when they beat the shit out of innocent people. |
|
Twin towers and unions are just a distraction from their violence.

They're not monsters. They're public servants who have been ordered to defy the rights of the public they serve. Would you want to be in that position?
I've known a few asshole cops, but not many. Most of the ones I've encountered (and I've had guns and tasers drawn on me) were just doing what they are trained to do and what was within the confines of the law. I wouldn't want to be in their position right now.

9. They have the same option we all have: don't attack peaceful people. |

When I worked in health care, I was ordered to force a patient to take her medicine. I said no.

11. No, they're truly good people being forced to do things they don't want to do. |
|
That's why almost every video involving abuse shows them laughing about it afterward. When I'm forced to hurt someone for no good reason, a hearty belly laugh is always my response.

10. Police should not be allowed to unionize. |
|
I say this as a proud union member of fifteen years.
