Occupy L.A.: The Elders Speak
This Sunday, November 20 at City Hall, Occupy L.A will hold "The Elders Speak," featuring speakers James Lawson, Dolores Huerta, Malcolm Boyd, George Regas, Maher Hathout and Leonard Beerman. In our conversations with the Occupy L.A. organizers it is clear that they would welcome hearing from those who have been guiding lights for earlier social justice movements. This array of Giants of Justice will be historic as they speak from the steps of City Hall imparting guidance and hope. Let's go out in support.

2. George Regas alone
is worth showing up for. He's the former rector of All Saints Church in Pasadena who has marched and gone to jail over many causes in years past. He instituted same sex unions at his church for which his wife's car was firebombed, and describes himself as "having a Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other." Outstanding human being.
