How is Obama doing? We have a poll.
What is your opinion of healthcare reform? We have a poll.
What is your opinion of the economy? We have a poll.
What do you think of Sarah Palin? We have a poll.
Why have elections anymore? Our propagandists will tell us what and how we should believe. They can make shit up if they want to and they probably do.
The whole country has gone a bit overboard with these polls. That is no way to run a country or anything else, for that matter.
They are not healthy. They are dangerous to our democracy. We vote every two years for a new Congress. We should not be attempting to repeal laws already in place because we think the "majority" in a poll might believe it should be done at this moment.
The thing about polls is that they serve hidden agendas of the powerful. We should take them with a grain of salt.

1. It is all in how the question is asked: |
|
"Considering that Barack Obama was not born in this country, is a communist, fascist Muslim, how would you rate his performance?"
