Just no hope for some people....Posted something from DU on FB:
Basically it showed images of protestors (OWS) and their interaction with the police.

Replies:

MP: you have so fallen for it. This imagery, and these posters, are EXACLTY the propoganda the OWS crowd is hoping for. Provoke the police. Dramatize the role as victim. Get pictures and video taken. Edit them so they show only part of the story. Then send them around the world to inspire useful idiots like you.

You play your role exceptionally well.

MP: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/how-dare-you-alan-colmes-mike-gallagher-get-into-shouting-match-over-occupy-wall-street-tea-party-comparison/

CB: MP you are (as usual) full of crap. I have a cousin and his sister who actually saw the police beating people in NY. I think you my friend may need to vet your sources a little more.

MP: CB - what happened right before the police started "beating" people? What were the police doing? What were the protesters doing? Were the protesters violating the law? Were the police giving them lawful orders to stop doing what they were doing? Or are you jumping to your conclusions based on what your cousin and his sister tols you they saw? Where were they when they saw it? Did they hear what commands were given? Do they know the laws at play that the police were charged with enforcing? Are they experts, or even knowledgabel, in the use of force by law enforcement officers under the law?

Should we allow "protesters" to run amock, do whatever they want, protest whatever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want with no regard for law and order, or the rights of others? Should we have the police merely stand by and watch, and not enforce the laws, not enforce the laws that protect all the other folks too? Should we assume that, just because protesters are "protesting" something, they are now magically immune from following the law or the lawful commands of the police and should never have to face the consequences of doing so? Are our freedoms of speech and expression a free pass to behave as we like with no regard for the law or society?

Much of the media hype we are seeing, of the sort Todd posted, is just that ... hype. It ignores the laws broken and the charge society has given to the police to address that. It ignores the facts of the incidents in question (they are never the same, but they sure make for good posters) and never tells us about what led up to it. And, if carried to their logical conclusions, the line of thinking used devolves us into anarchy.

If my preference for a law abifing society against their preference for anarchy makes me "full of crap," then so be it. If my preference for wanting to know the rest of the story before jumping on the protest bandwagon because of a few edited videos or artistically designed posters makes me "full of crap," then so be it.

This guy (MP) worships beck and rush. Yesterday he posted this pic and I replied:

MP: we already know your liberal views, and that you have no clue what America was supposed to be about (or maybe just oppose it), and that you are completely ignorant of the efforts of your fellow liberals to usurp this country's values by corrupting its institutions and tradi

His Dad: It's pretty darned obvious to me that TSS despises the Capitalist system and prefer it be replaced with a "more fair" system, like Socialism maybe?

3. Oh, I already know the response, from his FB group:
He has a document on there about the sheep, etc - and he sees himself (and those like him) as the sheepdogs who protect us sheep because we don't have the fortitude to deal with the issues.

Feel free to join up - just don't debate (I was banned from his group for debating)

Markurial Malcontent is the group name.

10. This is the part where some folks stand by the Republic
and some of us stand by Democracy.

Some stand with the elites and the "authorities" The rest of us... we stand or fall together.

Let this remain peaceful on our part.

4. Well, I like tormenting him at times :) we played on the chess team together
back in high school. He hates that people don't see things as beck/rush tell them to.

I think he misses me debating him (he banned me from his group) and he sought out my posts on my own group on FB - once I left no one really comments much there anymore...

#2 that they believe in.

That pesky 1st sets them off to no end and I get the same tripe about not knowing what America was supposed to be about and how much better off we'd be if the vote was only available to wealthy land owners and not the rabble.

keep up the good work.

7. Send him this picture from the non-violent protest at UC Davis ...

And challenge him to watch the entire video of the event on the Time NewsFeed web page from the excerpt below.

WATCH: Online Furor After Police Pepper-Spray Demonstrators at UC Davis
By Nick Carbone | @nickcarbone | November 19, 2011

A non-violent protest at UC Davis turned chaotic Friday afternoon as police pepper-sprayed a group of students sitting on the ground. Videos shot at the scene show a policeman walking up to the protesters, pulling out his can of pepper spray to display to the crowd, and liberally sweeping the protesters with the stinging substance. Many students had their heads down, but at least one demonstrator was hit in the face. Other officers then followed suit, spraying many of the Occupiers who appeared to be sitting in a circle with their arms linked. By midday Saturday, videos of the showdown were circulating the Internet.

As the pepper spray hit protesters, the gathered crowd bristled at the police action. A chorus of boos quickly rang out and as police attempted to drag students from the circle the crowd began to chant “Shame on you!” At least one teacher reported that police restrained students as they were pepper-sprayed in the mouth. Bystanders swooped in to tend to those who had been sprayed, as police in riot gear stood watch. The afternoon ended with 10 arrests, nine of them students, the Associated Press reports.

More preaceful protesters ... failing to follow lawful orders usually gets a force response from the police.

21. you are surrounded by such people
hell i venture to say that a majority or damn near a majority of americans agree

remember most working class americans hate intellectuals, they hate university students and dream of beating them up (hence the my kid beat up your honor student bumper stickers) and they really love seeing college students hurt by the cops

add in the greedy rich who vote right wing and you have lots of people happy to see university students being harmed by the cops.

9. Your friend's mistake is that he believes that the cops have the right to beat people for breaking
the law.

Does your friend exceed the speed limit? Does he jaywalk? Does he believe that he should be beaten for doing either?

11. Stupid people like that are the "Let Them Die" crowd that still think Saddam Hussein
was responsible for 9/11 and that President Obama was born in Kenya.

Like it or not, those people are just plain stupid, and there is no sense in trying to convince them of anything with facts because they have been hopelessly and irrevocably brainwashed by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

They're basically political zombies, don't waste your time, they are too far out of touch with reality to grasp anything of real substance.

15. "should we allow "protesters"to run amock (sic)....wherever they want w/ no regard for law & order?"
People ruining our future "with no regard for law and order" is exactly what's happening and what these people are protesting.

IMHO the people who pick on OWS protesters are mostly the people who consume everything they're told to and spend a lot of time watching just what they're supposed to on tv. As long as they can have whatever unhealthy, addictive CRAP they want to eat and keep up with their neighbors' consumption they think it's fine to hate on the people who will actually go out and try to change things. This is the ultimate LOSE for humanity.

Send him back this:

We're too busy protecting your freedom to occupy Wall Street. Wait till we get fucked over by the Government and the VA and become homeless, then we'll have plenty of time. Just ask our brothers from Vietnam.

Nothing pisses me off worse than these fucking armchair Patriots who are all about the troops. Right up until the war is over. They remind me of the anti-abortion people who are all about the children right up until they are born.

after I posted the Amendment introduced to get rid of the Citizens United decision re corporate personhood and made the comment
about an "effect of OWS". This guy posted in response...why limit the effects of OWS, how about rape, theft, assault, destruction of private property...you get the the idea!

Sorry, I'd had enough (this wasn't the first crap from this guy posted on my wall) and unfriended him.

Maybe it's time for you to click the unfriend button?

19. as if soldiers have done anything to protect my freedom ever
seriously i was born in 1979. Americans soldiers have never done a single thing to protect my freedom. They have done much to endanger it by killing innocent people in Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, but never once done a damn thing to protect my freedom.

they are fighting for empire, not freedom, it is so obvious.
how can people even justify that soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan are fighting for our freedom? they are fighting for oil, heroin, and hash.
