Anyone surprised by this from the "super" (NOT) committee?

and let the damn automatic cuts kick in - which would hit defense - which needs cutting very badly.

Automatic defense cuts, which are NEVER going to happen any other way. Plus, it makes it easier to let the Bush tax cuts expire.
