There is a big difference though.

People voted for Obama over McCain, because we liked HIS ideas, his agenda, his plans. We chose him because we wanted those ideas/plans/policies to prevail..

BUT, once in office the minority party in the senate, led by the loathsome evil turtle McConnell, decided that millions of people did not deserve to have their demands honored. From the minute the last vote total was reported, he/they had already decided that NOTHING would be allowed to happen, if it in any way aligned with what the millions of people voted for.

fast-forward to the midterm, just past..

because they managed to take over one chamber of congress, and narrowed the margin in another, they are sure that "the people have spoken", and their agenda is somehow sacrosanct.

1. As usual the repukes are so full of crap that it is coming out of their ears.

They are lying hypocrites who have no compunctions whatsoever about bringing the country down if that is what it takes for them to maintain or regain power.

I would not be the least bit surprised to discover at some future date that the repukes never wanted to win in 2008..since whoever won would have to deal with the blowback from pres shit-for-brains. They knew it would be an almost impossible task, and therefore the midterms would allow them to regain control of Congress. They miscalculated about the Senate, or perhaps the teabaggers screwed their pooches for them.
They will obstruct all they can for the next two years, hoping to regain the Senate majority in 2010, even if Obama is re-elected...keeping his hands tied for two years, and then their plan would be to have the Presidency in 2016. Then the USA could be a complete and total fascist plutocracy.

May we all be saved from such a horrific fate.

2. That;s why I think they were all okay with McCain being the sacrificial lamb
W knew the whole thing was about to implode,..it just happened a few months too soon.. Had it gone according to plan, it would have blown up in Feb, and "the black guy" would have gotten the blame..a la "business was too scared to have an inexperienced black man in charge"..

but as usual W miscalculated & it blew up on his watch...and even with that , Obama is still blamed by the right, for things their guy did..
