Sen. Patty Murray: GOP too 'enthralled' with Norquist pledge
if the democrats can't beat the shit out of republicans on this issue, they should go home.

congressfools took a pledge to uphold the constitution, not a pledge to some wealthy lobbyist.

**********************************************************************

One of the major obstacles to a deficit supercommittee deal has been Grover Norquist and his anti-tax pledge, Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) said Sunday.

"I'll tell you, one of the problems has been a pledge that too many Republicans took from a wealthy lobbyist by the name of Grover Norquist, whose name has come up in meetings time and time again," Murray said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform sponsors a "Taxpayers Protection Pledge" that asks candidates for elected office to oppose any tax increase and the elimination of tax deductions unless it is revenue neutral.

"As long as we have some Republican lawmakers who feel more enthralled with a pledge they took to a Republican lobbyist than they do to a pledge to the country to solve problems, this is going to be hard to do," Murray said.

1. This simple refrain should be shouted from the rooftops in every town and hamlet in America
until all of those who took an oath of dis-allegiance to America no longer hold office. :patriot:

3. There are Dems on Norquists list of signers
We must stop pointing to Only Repubs for the mess we are in. Without some Democrats support much of the crap we are dealing with and becoming aware of today wouldn't be an issue.

5. Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Rep. Ben Chandler of Kentucky, Rep John Andrews of New Jerssey
appear to be the Democratic Party signers of the Norquest pledge - unless I missed some others.

And there was a small handful of Republican legisltors who did not sign

6. I don't hold Norquist relevant...
All he did was Offer the Plate of Cookies to the pols-It is these listed Politicians who made a conscious decision to sign it, thus Validating and setting into motion the pledge.

Imho, it is the signers who are forsaking their allegiance to the Constitution of the United States-for they placed Money, Wealth, Power etc Above Loyalty To the Constitution when they signed Norquists pledge.
Had All pols Refused to sign? Who knows Where the US might be now........We likely would not know Who Norquist is.
