Cops chase and arrest woman who was bringing blankets to protestors

1:58 PMSam LevinZuccotti Park was quiet this morning until a scuffle with cops resulted in two arrests. At around 11:40 a.m., a young woman brought in blankets, which security said is not allowed. Protesters claimed that sleeping bags were banned, not blankets.

Several cops chased her and arrested her, and a man intervening splashed water on a cop and was also arrested. Sonya Zink, 40, of Wisconsin, near tears after the arrests, said, "She didn't do anything wrong. They ordered her to do something she didn't have to do. She was wrongly arrested. That's brutality, that's police brutality."

She added, "Every time they come at us with violence, we stand in peace."

1. LAWSUIT! I smell LAWSUIT! I know I would sue.

With every case of wrongful arrest like this they only bring on more and more lawsuits. Even if they win the lawsuits, they will lose more and more money fighting them off so it's a lose lose situation for them.

But I would be smart about it. I'd have a friend secretly record the encounter so it will give me more ammunition to win.

In the city always have a recording device with you. IN FACT ALWAYS have a recording device with you.

Blankets, bedding....you're not going to win if you restrict the argument to "sleeping bags." They don't want people sleeping there, so playing a word game isn't going to work.

Bring ponchos instead.

The coat-bag weighs only 1 pound and looks like an extra-large coat with a big hood. It costs $7 to $10 to produce.
