Protection against gas and sprays as worn by police

Full-face/ears surrounding hard plastic visors, gas masks...fully clothed and gloved. Open only at the neck and behind the ears. Looks like a rubber or cloth strip around the inside of the visor to seal the eyes and face from gas, like in a swimming mask.

But, the point is to embarrass TPTB by making yourselves vulnerable to their excess. It's (being sprayed with capsacin) is damned painful, but it's true.

5. Scuba goggles and put a moist rag over/in the snorkel... perhaps a Brita Filter for OC Tear Gas?

Scuba goggles & snorkels are probably $5 at your nearest WalMart in the beach section. Theywill protect your eyes & nose.
I would think a damp/wet rag in the snorkel would be enough to knock most of the nasty pepper spray out of the air.

Tear gas will require a more advanced filter since it's actually an aeresol gas. I was thinking activated charcoal(?)
I think Brita Filters are activated Carbon/Charcoal. Perhaps duct tape a Brita Filter to a snorkel ??? :shrug:

7. I really don't like the idea of gas masks at protests.

At best it makes us look like we're asking to be peppersprayed. The news footage shows gas masks and anybody watching at home thinks "rioters".

Cops shouldn't be attacking protestors, but wearing gas masks to protests is bad imagery.
